Help Out with Takeout

Apr 14, 2020

As people of action, Wakefield Rotarians are not sitting idle while sheltering at home during the coronavirus pandemic. We are safely making a difference in our community through local efforts that help area businesses and health care workers who are on the frontline battling COVID-19.

First, we are supporting two local restaurants that support our club-Heritage Club and its 1250 Restaurants is where we gather for our Rotary breakfast meetings (currently suspended) and The Lemon Tree, which has catered our Rotary events and socials.

We are buying boxed meals from these two restaurants and will be delivering them to nurses, doctors and other health care staff at WakeMed hospitals.

It’s our way of helping two local restaurants during the coronavirus mandates and thanking health care professionals who are giving so much to help fight the virus.

Secondly, Rotarians from the Wakefield Rotary Club will be purchasing takeout meals from Wake Forest area restaurants over the next six weeks.

Each week between April 19 and May 30, we will choose one restaurant and ask our Rotarians to buy takeout from that restaurant one time or several times during that week. Our goal is to flood these establishments with business and cash flow.

See the restaurants we’ll be ordering from and details about our first week with takeout from Over the Falls.

During unprecedented times, we are doing our part to help our community.
